A common question many people are asking is, does Insanity build muscle?
I’m sure you’ve seen the creator of Insanity, Shaun T. He’s a pretty muscular dude. So will Insanity build muscle on you and give you a body like Shaun T?
The short answer is no.
(Unrelated sidenote: Did you know that Mr. T (you know, “I pity the fool” Mr, T) is Shaun T’s dad?)

Most people won’t build much muscle from the the Insanity workout workout. It’s not a muscle building specific program.
However, everyone is different and a lot of the results you see will depend on your current fitness level.
I’ve personally done Insanity and after the 60 days I was probably in the best shape I’ve ever been in. I lost some weight, my cardio levels greatly improved, and I was looking as ripped as I ever had. But to answer the question, will Insanity build muscle? I’d have to say no, or at the very least, maybe… let me explain.
Will Insanity Build Muscle? – It Could But You Won’t Get Huge From It
The Insanity workout is not a muscle building workout per se, but rather a fat burning workout which will also turn fat into muscle. The Insanity workout includes a lot of pus up type exercises, and a lot of squat type exercises, but with no weights. With Insanity you are mixing up cardio and body weight resistance training at the same time, which is a huge calorie and fat burner. So you will be getting leaner, and stronger, and your muscles will tone up, and that is how you will get that “ripped” look.
Insanity is a great workout, but if you are looking to bulk up and gain muscle mass, this might not be the workout for you. You will be better of going Body Beast workout. Body Beast is a workout that is specifically designed to build muscle and bulk up.

Insanity is not really a program for building muscle, but it will burn calories and result in losing weight and becoming slimmer overall. And that is what will give you that “ripped” look.
However, if you are a skinny guy looking to gain size, you will be better off going with Body Beast. Body Beast has much more resistance workouts where you are able to use heavy weights and focus solely on getting bigger and stronger. Both Body Beast and Insanity are both great workouts, whichever one you choose will depend on what your fitness goals are.
