Are you a Beachbody Coach that doesn’t like your upline sponsor?
Maybe you don’t feel like they are helping you enough or that things would be much easier for you if you were signed up with someone else or on a different “team.” (Hint – Leaders will build their own team…Become a leader.)
Or maybe the Beachbody Coach that sponsored you into the business isn’t active at all.
Whatever the case may be, my advice is to STOP BLAMING YOUR SPONSOR.
That may be kind of harsh, but it’s something that you need to hear and understand.
As a Beachbody Coach, your success does not depend on who your sponsor is. Your success will depend on YOUR EFFORT and on the amount of lives you help change.
I want to repeat that because it’s important: Your success does NOT depend on who your sponsor is.
Your breakthrough will come once you take 100% accountability and responsibility for your business and results (or lack of results).
There are so many Coaches out there blaming their sponsor for their own failures. I usually get at least 1 email a week from a Beachbody Coach that is not on my team, but somehow found me and wants to switch over to me. In fact below is a screenshot from an email I received a few days ago:
Now here’s what some other Beachbody Coaches do. They lead the struggling Coach on and make them think that switching sponsors is the solution. The reality is, they can find the solution by looking in the mirror.
Now I could say to these people, “cancel your Coach account, wait 6 months, and then re-sign back up with me.” (The rule per Beachbody’s policy and procedures is that in order to switch sponsoring Coaches, the Coach must cancel their account, wait 6 months, and then they are allowed to sign back up. This is actually a good rule and protects everyone and prevents Coach’s from “team jumping” because they think the grass will be greener on the other side.)
“The grass is NOT greener on the other side. The grass is greener where you water it.”
Switching sponsors is NOT the solution. And it definitely not worth sitting idle for 6 months and losing that valuable business building time.
To quote Eric Worre from his book, Go Pro, “Decide today to never blame anyone or anything else fr your lack of results.”

Regarding the email screenshot above, this was my response to Carlos:
Thanks for considering to switch your upline to me….however, I don’t think this is a good idea. Actually, it’s not even possible, they won’t let you switch.
The rule is, if someone wants to switch uplines, they have to cancel their Coach account completely, wait 6 months, and then re-sign back up.
Which means you waste 6 valuable business building time and have to site idle for 6 months.
No upline is worth waiting 6 months for, not even me… 😉
(Beware of any Coaches that encourage existing Coaches to quit and wait…then re-sign back up with them…That’s not leading with integrity…Some Coaches are out there doing this.)
Your success is this business will depend on you, and your effort. There is so much great training and available resources…having an upline isn’t really even needed.
If you’ve made a decision to succeed, then you can do it with or without an upline.
Which reminds me of a message I posted in our Team’s private facebook group a few days ago on this topic….this is what I wrote:
Earlier today I got an email from Todd Falcone…I opened it and clicked the link to go to his blog post.
Long story short, the topic of the blog post wasn’t really interesting, important, or relevant…but 2 sentences stuck out. I highlighted these 2 sentences in the image shown.
Todd started out by saying that he is contacted on a regular basis from people who want to sign up with him.
But it was these 2 sentences that stuck out…
“Many of those individuals are wanting to sponsor with me, thinking that having me as their sponsor is somehow going to be their “solution” to success.
The reality is that everyone needs to look in the MIRROR. That is where the real solution lies.”
The point is…is DOES NOT matter who your sponsor is.
Sure it would be great to best buddies with your sponsor, but sometimes that’s not case, and if so it’s not the end of the world.
Your sponsor is NOT the solution.
I think so many people get caught up on this, thinking things will easier or better of they signed up with whoever is listed as the “Top Coach” at the moment.
The ironic part is, every successful Coach already knows that who your sponsor is does not matter. This is a breakthrough that happens on your way to success.
What matters is YOUR EFFORT.
What matters is YOUR PERSISTENCE.
Blaming your sponsor is an easy cop-out. (Especially if you’ve never called them or refuse to take their calls.)
The 2nd point is…take personal responsibility for your business…
Your sponsor can’t do personal development for you.
Your sponsor can’t read the books for you.
Your sponsor can’t listen to the NWCs for you.
Your sponsor can’t invite for you.
Your sponsor can’t do it for you.
Don’t wait for your sponsor…
And please don’t be sensitive or offended by any of this…my intent is to help. These were all things that I needed to hear when I was first starting out..and still things I need to remind myself of when negative thoughts starts to slip into my mind.
Your sponsor is available to answer questions and help in any way that they can…but they can’t do the work for you.
And lastly, there is no rule that says you can’t work harder, become a higher rank, and earn more money than your sponsor. It’s possible and happens all of the time in this business.
Hope that helps!
So as you can see from my email, I didn’t try and persuade Carlos to cancel his Coach account, wait 6 months, and then re-sign back up with me because I know that is not that answer. All leader in this business should have integrity and do the same, unfortunately that is not the case and some will give other Coaches bad advice.
In a previous email I asked Carlos if he was:
- Listening to the National Wake Up Calls every week?
- Reading 10 pages a day?
- Going through any of the company training from his Coach Online Office?
- Actively engaging in the 3 daily vital behaviors
(He answered “no” to all of these.)
I also recommended to him that is he can’t get a hold of his upline sponsor, he could always reach out to his Diamond and Star Diamond upline. Their contact information is listed for all Coaches.
You may not realize it, but your upline sponsor wants to see you succeed more than anyone else in the world. They have a vested in your success and in most cases will be there for you to help and answer any questions you have. The things is, they can’t do the work for you. But still, be aggressive, call and text your sponsor, trust me, they will be happy to hear from you.
The bottom line is, there is a ton of great resources and training out there for anyone to find. Google and YouTube have been invaluable resources to me and are the first place I go when I have a question.
Stop blaming. Start taking action.
