Beachbody Coaching Can Be A Great Plan “B” – Do You Have A Plan “B”?

I get contacted, usually several times a week, by people that have experienced a big change of some kind in their life. Most of the time it’s something unfortunate, like they got laid off or fired and now they need to find another way to make money and generate income.

I’ll get phone calls or emails that say, “Marcus, the company I work for just went out of business. I’m out of a job and ready to start my Beachbody Coaching business.”

The truth is, if you’ve waited until you NEED income to start your Beachbody Coaching business, you’ve waited too long. It’s important to understand how the Beachbody Coaching business model works and what to expect. Although the possibilities and potential when becoming a Beachbody Coach are limitless, it’s very likely that you won’t make very much money right from the start.

Unexpected things happen to everyone. At any time, you can be let go from your job. There’s really no security.

This is why it’s important for everyone to be working on a Plan “B” now. It’s doesn’t have to be Beachbody Coaching. Maybe you’re into something else, which is perfectly fine. There are many great Plan “B” options available. What is important it to be working on something so if something does happen to your income stream, it’s not catastrophic for you and those that rely on you.

I like to always be completely honest and give everyone realistic expectations. If you’ve lost your job, becoming a Beachbody Coach is not the answer for you (right now). You won’t make enough money, fast enough, to be able to pay your bills. Don’t get me wrong, you can earn A LOT of money as a Beachbody Coach, but it doesn’t happen over night.

If you’ve lost your job, the first thing you should do is look for another job to replace the income that you’ve lost. (Unless you have a lot saved, but most people don’t.)

I Became A Beachbody Coach And Used That As My Plan “B”

I was a Union Sheet Metal Worker for 10 years. The pay was decent, but I was unhappy and wanted more. I became a Beachbody Coach, and in my spare time worked on building my Beachbody business. Instead of coming home, grabbing a beer, and plopping down on the couch in front of the TV, I came home and spent 2-3 hours working on building my business. I read books, went through courses, and spent time and effort acquiring the skills I needed to build my business and be successful.

My Beachbody business started out very slow (this is normal for most Coaches), but I was consistent and my income and business  slowly started to grow. After about 3 years of hard work, I was in a position to seriously consider quitting my day job and focus on my Beachbody Coach business full time.

At my sheet metal construction job I was being laid off more frequently for weeks at a time…one day I decided to make the leap. It was a tough decision, and I wasn’t completely ready for it, but it ended up being one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

The point is…I was unhappy with my situation and with my job. I decided to make some changes and work on taking control of my own future and my financial situation. I stopped complaining, stopped making excuses, and starting making some changes.

A personal “rule” that I have is that I don’t allow myself to complain about something that I have no control over, or that I’m not willing to change or do something about. For example, if you hate your job, stop complaining and do something about it. This rule has been very powerful for me and has created an abundance of happiness in my life.

If you’re unhappy with your current situation, my recommendation is to start working on your plan “B” today.
