Are you looking for a Shakeology alternative?
Maybe the price tag is a little on the side for you and you are looking for a way to get a similar product at a better price. It makes sense, why not save a few dollars if possible.
I’d love to buy a brand new Tesla for the cost of a 2009 Ford Focus, be we all know that ain’t gonna happen.
The point is, you can expect to pay more for something that is higher quality. It’s the world we live in.
One of the common objections people have towards Shakeology is that is is too expensive. If you fall into this category, you may be looking for a Shakeology alternative that you can make yourself at home. Unfortunately, re-creating your own version of Shakeology is nearly impossible, and would cost way too much money.
My recommendation is to stick with Shakeology (or at least be willing to give it a try), it’s the best shake available.
In the video below, a women buys some of the ingredients she would need to make her own Shakeology alternative, be sure to pay attention to how much her total cost comes to. (Also, you might recognize the cashier.)
A Shakeology Alternative Would Cost Way Too Much!
Did you watch the video above?
Pretty funny right?
The video is meant to be humorous and entertaining, but it also does a great job of explaining some of the ingredients that are found in Shakeology and an accurate portrayal of what you could expect if you tried buying these ingredients separately to make your own Shakeology alternative.
Here are the ingredients and prices shown in the video:
- Wheat Grass – $22.99
- Camu-Camu – $18.35
- Reishi – $13.69
- Schisandra – $24.99
- Goji Berry – $15.99
- Lo Han Guo – $9.95
- Konjac – $16.99
- Moringa – $16.95
- Flaxseed – $8.99
These are just some of the ingredients in Shakeology, in the video he mentioned several more but didn’t show a price, and he also left out protein, Shakeology is also high in protein. Often times people compare the price of Shakeology to a normal protein shake, which is like comparing a Ford Focus to a Ferrari. Both are cars, but they are totally different.
A Homemade Shakeology Version Is Impossible To Make
As you can see from the ingredients I listed above, creating your own Shakeology alternative would be very hard to do, and I would be willing to bet anything that the taste of whatever you came up with would be awful.
I want to point out that I’m not a nutritionist or an expert on these ingredients, so my knowledge is limited on the actual pricing of the ingredients I listed above.
To check and see if the pricing shown in the video was accurate, I randomly picked one ingredient, Camu-Camu, and did a search to see if I could buy it from Amazon and what the price would be. I found a 3.5 oz. bag of certified organic, non-GMO, raw, vegan Camu-Camu powder, and the price was $19.99. There was also a few other options, but I’d say the price shown in the video was fairly accurate.
I strongly recommend to not try and create a Shakeology alternative, it would just take too much time, effort, and money. Give Shakeology a try and see what you think. There is a 30 day, “empty bag”, money back guarantee, so if you don’t like the taste, or are not happy with your purchase for whatever reason, simple send back the open bag, even if its empty, and you will receive a full refund of your purchase price, minus the cost of shipping and handling.
Shakeology May Not Be That Expensive After All
Earlier in the week I didn’t have time to drink my Shakeology I had some things to do early and was running a little late. I ate a bowl of cereal, and then stopped at 7 Eleven and picked up a cup of coffee and a bottle of water. The 2 items (not including the cost of a bowl of cereal and milk) totaled $3.96!
Normally I could skip the bowl of cereal and coffee and just have my Shakeology, and fill up a water jug at home.
At times I’ll think Shakeology is kind of expensive, but when I see how easy it is to spend $4.00, which is more expensive than a daily serving of Shakeology, it changes my opinion on the price of Shakeology. With my Beachbody Coach’s 25% discount, I figure the total cost of 1 serving of Shakeology for me is $3.27, which is pretty good considering all the health benefits I am getting from it.

So while Shakeology may seem expensive, think about that bagel you buy every morning, or the $2.75 fancy latte you buy at Starbucks. $3.27 is cheaper than any breakfast value meal at McDonalds, so you’re not only saving money, but you’ll also feel more energized. In my opinion, Shakeology is a bargain.
Why Is Shakeology So Damn Expensive?
After shipping and taxes, 1 serving of Shakeology costs around $4. That is almost up as the same price as a bottle of beer at a strip club, or a pack of cigarettes.
Let’s consider first that Shakeology is a meal replacement shake. It can be used as a mid day snack, but was originally designed to be used as a meal replacement.
What is the average cost of a meal?
I know when I was working in the construction business, I would spend close to $10 a day for lunch at an IHOP or Chili’s. If someone is using Shakeology to replace a meal they are most likely saving money.
Another thing to consider is the cost of ingredients that go into Shakeology. Beachbody has this thing about using only the highest quality ingredients (which is a good thing). This makes the price go up, and also the quality.
The creators of Shakeology did not want to take any shortcuts. (Again, this is a good thing.)
So What’s Actually In Shakeology?
Shakeology Recreation Experiment
Recently a fellow Beachbody Coach, did a little experiment. He wanted to see if he could put together a homemade Shakeology alternative himself by going to the grocery store and buying all the ingredients himself. The picture below is what he came up wit and everything he purchased.
And below are the receipts of everything purchased totaling $483!
$4 a serving for Shakeology is starting to look like a bargain.
“Awesome demonstration. And even if someone did assemble all that, I am willing to bet that most if not all of those ingredients are not sourced at the same high standards as we use, and they are likely processed so they can stay on the shelf longer. That means the potent properties are cooked and killed before they ever get into the bottle. Not Shakeology – as close to fresh as it comes without picking it off the tree! And do you know how hard it would be to make that $481 concoction taste good? You would throw it all away after one sip. Not Shakeology. I am so proud of this product!”Carl Daikeler, Beachbody CEO
Which would you rather do?
Take 38 supplements every day that will cost you over $483.12 every month, or with just one scoop each day of a great tasting meal replacement shake that will cost you just $129.95 per month (just $4 a day – like a coffee and bagel, but WAY better for you!
There’s NO RISK – 30 Day “Empty Bay” Money Back Guaranteee
One of the great things about Shakeology is that is comes with an empty bag, 30 day money back guarantee.
This means you can try out Shakeology, and if after 30 day you are not 100% happy and satisfied, for any reason, you can return the empty bag and get a full refund.
No questions asked, games to play, or hoops to jump through.
Beachbody has created an amazing product and are confident that you will love it. This is why they are offering this refund.
Shakeology is not the only Beachbody product that comes with a 30 day money back guarantee. In fact, they all do!
The bottom line is that Beachbody creates awesome products that produce amazing results. Beachbody know this and that is why they are able to offer a money back guarantee on all of their products.
Beachbody is not looking to trick people out of their money by making a one-time sale. The goal is to provide a long term solution that actually works!
